As an adventure traveler and professional photographer, I look for family-friendly accommodations that double as bases for exploring. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Hideaway did not meet expectations. While the location promises easy access, with just a 10-minute boat ride to the beautiful Haad Yuan beach and a quick trip to the livelier Haad Rin, our experience was marred by ongoing maintenance issues. With the hotel undergoing extensive renovations, daily noise and limited services created a challenging atmosphere for relaxation and family fun. We did find some joy in the nature surrounding the area, which beckons for exploration, and I managed to capture stunning photos of the coastline. The lack of basic amenities, such as a functioning restaurant or reliable power, made our family getaway feel more like a stressful ordeal. Though I remember this hotel's charm from a decade ago, it has regrettably lost its magic. I hope improvements are made for future families seeking a peaceful escape.
